During spring 2016 we started our mentorship initiative with the youth. Utilizing our local resources, we partnered up with the Boys & Girls club of Dawson to borrow their space once a week as we lent our time to create some positive dialogue a group of 8-10 teens. Whether discussing their feelings and takeaways from a Netlfix documentary or showing them how to create a standout job resume, our sessions always provided a stimulant for critical thought.

Much of their lives are structured to a point where very little thought is dedicated towards finding one’s passion or interests. Much of the early sessions really keyed on the question: “If you could wake up tomorrow in an ideal situation, what would you be doing?” Truth be told, very few people can answer this question. So, our goal was to start the conversation to get them thinking towards an answer.
